Buying Rules
Dogma releases are built in small numbers and offered with clear rules on ordering, allocation, delivery, and service. This page outlines how the process works.
1) Release types
Dogma Chapter Editions (limited production)
Chapter Editions are produced in small batches, announced in advance, and offered through a release-specific process. Depending on the release, this may include a waitlist, allocation, reservation window, or deposit-confirmed order.
Dogma Arc (ongoing, small-batch availability)
Arc pieces may be available for immediate purchase when in stock. Quantities remain limited and restocks are not guaranteed.
Dogma Prologue (concept-led production pieces)
Prologue releases sit between study and production. Availability, ordering method, and warranty terms are stated on each product page.
Atelier (bespoke / one-of-one)
Atelier pieces are commissioned through a private process with milestone approvals and staged payments.
2) Ordering windows for Chapter Editions
When a Chapter Edition opens, we publish the relevant release details clearly. Depending on the release, this may include:
- the ordering or reservation window dates
- the estimated delivery range
- the production capacity for that chapter
- any deposit amount required to confirm an allocation
We keep release windows open long enough for collectors across time zones to participate without rushing.
3) Allocation and fairness
If demand exceeds production capacity, Dogma may allocate orders using a process designed to reduce bots, flipping, and bad-faith purchasing.
Depending on the release, this may include one or more of the following:
- verified customer identity, including email or SMS confirmation
- one-order-per-person limits
- payment and address verification
- a random allocation among verified customers, when needed
If you are not allocated a piece, you may be offered:
- a waitlist option, and/or
- priority notification for a future chapter, when applicable
4) Purchase limits
To protect fair access:
- Chapter Editions may be limited to one watch per customer
- Dogma may also enforce one watch per household for specific releases
- Multiple accounts, repeated checkout attempts, or attempts to bypass limits may result in cancellation
Dogma reserves the right to cancel any order believed to involve automation, bad-faith behavior, or policy circumvention.
5) Deposits, payments, and cancellations
Chapter Editions
A confirmed allocation may require a deposit. Unless stated otherwise for a specific release:
- deposits are non-refundable once the ordering window closes and production is committed
- any remaining balance is due before shipment, with timing stated in your confirmation email
If Dogma cancels production for any reason, your payment is refunded in full.
Arc purchases
Arc pieces purchased from available stock are charged in full at checkout.
Atelier commissions
Atelier work follows a milestone payment schedule defined in the commission agreement.
6) Estimated delivery and production reality
Dogma publishes the most honest delivery estimate possible. Watchmaking involves specialized suppliers, production sequencing, and quality-control steps that do not respond well to shortcuts.
If timelines shift, Dogma will communicate proactively with:
- what changed
- what it affects
- the updated expected delivery range
We would rather be precise than optimistic.
7) Pricing, taxes, and duties
Prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Depending on your destination:
- local taxes such as VAT or GST may apply
- import duties may be collected by your carrier or customs authority
Dogma cannot control duties or taxes charged by your country.
8) Shipping, insurance, and delivery
Dogma ships insured where available. Tracking details are provided once an order leaves the studio.
To protect both customer and brand, Dogma may require:
- signature confirmation
- a verified match between billing and shipping details for first-time customers
9) Returns and warranty
Because Chapter Editions and Atelier work are produced in limited runs:
- sales may be final unless otherwise stated or required by applicable law
- warranty coverage and service instructions are provided with each watch
If something is not right, contact Dogma promptly. Dogma stands behind its work.
10) Resale and flipping
You own what you buy. Dogma does not police the secondary market.
However, Dogma does pay attention to patterns that undermine fair access, including serial flipping, obvious bot behavior, and repeated policy circumvention. Accounts associated with those patterns may lose access to future releases.
Dogma is built for collectors who wear their watches.
11) Communication
Release announcements and ordering instructions are communicated through:
- the Dogma newsletter
- the official Dogma website
- verified Dogma social channels
Dogma does not sell through direct messages and will never request payment through informal channels.
